Песме су сврставане према Дучићевој хронологији, па изгледа као да се у збирци налази девет певања. Ушавши у епоху класичних српских песника, о Дучићу и његовом стваралаштву почиње много да се говори, па тако врхунац у стваралаштву постиже описним песмама у којима пева о свету који га окружује, уткајући у њега своја најдубља осећања.
